I understand that the FTC is considering relaxing or changing the rules regarding Automated Dialing systems. PLEASE STOP THEM. They are annoying, tie up phone lines, and NEVER, repeat NEVER allow you to opt out or to find out just who is calling and for what. In this age of privacy pirates and and intrusions in our personal privacy, the last thing I want is some automated mechanism that can be programmed to interfere with my personal privacy at will and can do so with computer speed and accuracy. At one time, I had one such system that continued to repeat call me until my line was tied up with just their calls. If an emergency occured, I would have been in a serious situation of having my communications (which I pay for) jammed and unavailable. I would like these systems banned and be considered wire fraud upon the public. PLEASE STOP AUTOMATED DIALING SYSTEMS, the provide no positive public good, and are too easily and often abused....at my expense.
