I want the FTC know that I strongly object to all telemarketing calls made to my home. None of them are welcome under any circumstances.I find the fact that a recording tying up my phone line, even after I hang up on the call, is an invasion of my time, privacy and space that is especially offensive. The use of the phone line and the space on my answering machine is something I have paid for, and the unwelcome use of it by an outside party is, in my opinion, thievery. I have no recourse if a company calls me with a recorded message based on a claimed business relationship. If a solicitor calls me in person, I tell them clearly not to call me again and to mark my number off of their list. This is somewhat satisfactory, although not always successful.I believe the FTC should outlaw prerecorded messages with no legal loopholes. This includes recorded messages left on my answering machine. The FTC should adopt a standard of absolute zero tolerance for abandoned calls as well. They are annoying, interruptive and without purpose. I consider them a form of harassment, and you should, too. Sincerely, Advocate for Privacy
