I would hate to this go into law as its currently written. I appreciate notifications that i get from companies that I already do business with. I travel frequently and would HATE it if i didnt get my automated notification informing me of a flight cancellation with re-booking notification. Or getting an automated notification when i have missed a payment deadline on my mortgage. These are useful, curtesy automated notifications that are the mark of good customer service. What a pain in the derierre if i had to expressly opt-into this kind of feature. You need to work on the wording of this kind of law to differentiate between blind sales calls and the up-sales calls i might get offering me a new feature with a product/company i already have a relationship with, and the kind of customer service call indicated above. I would also prefer to do most of my business via an automated system than be forced to always speak to a person.
