I shop at The Andersons, CVS, Discount Drug Mart, Giant Eagle, Kroger, Meijer and Walgreens. People respect my ability to squeeze the most out of the shopping experience.
In a perfect world (for manufacturers), sale items run when coupons are not available. If a product is not available during sale dates, the merchant issues a rain check. Some expire (Discount Drug Mart, Kroger, and Meijer), the others don't.
The trick is to wait for a coupon. Then you benefit from the sale price and the coupon, for double savings.
As long as rain checks are issued, I don't see a problem.
