Good day, I would like to comment on the proposed Used Motor Vehicle Trade Regulation Rule, Project No. P087604. I think that the FTC needs to go further to ensure that consumers aren't swindled by used car salespeople. In particular, there needs to be standardized terminology regarding "salvage" vehicles across all 50 states. This will help prevent title washing and prevent unsuspecting consumers from buying unsafe vehicles. Dealers must also be required to disclose all known defects to consumers. Dealers should be held liable in cases where a defect was known but not disclosed and consumers should be allowed to return the vehicle less a wear and tear charge. Thank you.
