Submission Text
I oppose the proposed change to the FTC Used Car Buyer's Guide. If anything, the Used Car Buyer's Guide should be modified to require the disclosure of more information. Specifically, I would urge that the dealer be required to disclose known damage or title brand history of the car prior to purchase.
The proposed change would make it easier for a dealer to commit fraud in the sale of the vehicle and then hide behind the "disclosure" in the proposed new buyer's guide that nothing said by the dealer can be relied upon. I would suggest no modification to the sticker over this proposed change alone.
