As a former customer of Wild Oats, the empty building has saddened me these few years. I relished the choices and the competitive pricing. A Trader Joe's store would make an excellent addition to my shopping options as well as revitalize that corner, which has experienced the loss of a busy video store. Too many vacant storefronts effect the business and shopping mindsets of Portlanders. Trader Joe's is a familiar name that visitors from out of state would recognize, be drawn to, and patronize. Obviously, the new jobs would be most welcome. I hope the Commission's General Counsel will consider that my comments are consistent with the public interest. Thank you.
