Comments:I strongly encourage the sale of the former Wild Oats property on Marginal Way in Portland by Whole Foods to Trader Joe's. In my travels and visits to other cities I have had a fair amount of experience with Trader Joe's outfit and believe it would be an enormous asset in the Portland community. I do appreciate what our other markets have to offer but Trader Joe's is a unique store. It's reasonably priced and offers items not found in other markets. For years now there has been an undercurrent of yearning voiced by so many people in the Portland community and beyond "What we really need is a Trader Joe's, etc, etc" I believe people would make regular shopping trips from great distances in Maine and New Hampshire for a Trader Joe's. The only thing better than having a Trader Joe's is having one that will be allowed to see wine (one of it's greatest features in those that have the permit to sell it).
