Trader Joe's would be a terrific addition to Portland, Maine and offer both a complement to Whole Foods, as well as a bit of badly needed competition. I can't see any reason the FTC should oppose this transaction, and I believe it should be supported and endorsed as consistent with the spirit of the divestiture.
