Dear FTC members, I am writing today to urge you to allow Trader Joes to move into the Portland Maine area. It is clear there is a market in Southern Maine for natural, alternative foods from the success of Whole Foods. However, Whole Foods is not a realistic place to shop for families on a tight budget or lower income people. Trader Joe's offers a greatly needed competitor for Whole Foods market. They have a lower price point but still offer all natural, organic, alternative food choices. I personally know dozens of people in Portland alone who have been asking for Trader Joes to come to Maine for years. This is a good move for Maine and the people of Maine who will have more options for good, healthy, affordable food. Thank you, Maureen Baker Durham, ME
