Comments:Regarding Trader Joe's lease of former Wild Oats store in Portland Maine: I for one among many ask that the Federal Trade Commission approve this lease. Maine has no Trader Joe's stores and there is definitely a market here for this popular small chain grocery. It is not another Whole Foods, but is another alternative to the large chain grocery stores, providing specialty grocery items at low prices for the grocery shopper. It will encourage competition for the grocery dollar in the Midcoast Maine area. As a former Californian I can hardly wait to have a Trader Joe's here. I cannot afford to shop at Whole Foods, but I can afford Trader Joe's, which does offer some natural alternative products.
