My wife and I were sorry to see Wild Oats purchased by Whole Foods and closed. It was a wonderful store, and items were priced fairly. This was another example of a big company buying up a smaller one to suppress competition, such as with big banks and big oil. Whole Foods is a good store, but a lot of the merchandise is priced noticeably higher than in the Wild Oats store. If Trader Joe's were to establish a store in Portland, it would provide more competition and more choice for consumers. I highly recommend that you consider allowing Trader Joe's to open a store in Portland. Thank you.
