The HSR Rules outline the requirements for the premerger notification process under the Hart-Scott-Rodino (HSR) Act, which enables the Federal Trade Commission and the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice to prevent anticompetitive mergers, acquisitions, and other types of transactions and to prevent interim harm to competition associated with those transactions.
