The Federal Trade Commission today announced the following actions. Unless otherwise noted, the FTC staff contact is Dan Ducore, 202-326-2526.
Commission action regarding applications: Following a public comment period, the Commission has responded to an application from the following entity:
- The FTC has approved the application of Sulzer Limited, a Swiss firm, to divest to Sherritt, Inc. the information necessary to launch an aluminum polyester powder product equivalent to Sulzer's "Amdry 2010." Sherritt is based in Canada. The divestiture was required under a 1994 consent order that settled FTC charges over Sulzer's acquisition of the Metco Division of The Perkin-Elmer Corporation. The consent order was designed to restore competition for aluminum polyester powder, a product used in jet engine housings (Docket No. C-3559; Commission vote 5-0).
