The Federal Trade Commission will announce "Operation Cure.All," a comprehensive law enforcement and consumer education campaign to combat deceptive health claims on the Internet at a press conference on Thursday, June 24, 1999 at 10:30 a.m. "Operation Cure.All," targets companies touting bogus cancer cures and making unsubstantiated health claims, such as "magnetic therapy devices" can alleviate arthritis and high blood pressure. The FTC and its partners also will unveil valuable Internet tools that provide consumers with good quality health information.
