Federal Trade Commission Votes to Close Investigation of Proposed Merger of Amerisource Health Corporation and Bergen Brunswig Corporation

After conducting a detailed investigation of the proposed merger of AmeriSource Health Corporation and Bergen Brunswig Corporation, the Federal Trade Commission has voted to close the matter and to allow the merger to proceed without taking any enforcement action. A statement issued by the Commission discusses the reasons for its conclusion in this matter.

The Commission vote to close the investigation was 5-0. Although he concurred with the Commission's decision in this matter, Commissioner Mozelle Thompson issued a separate statement in which he voiced some concerns about the merger.
