The Commission has approved the publication of a Federal Register notice announcing the 2003 regulatory review of the rules and regulations under the FTC's Hobby Protection Act, the Tire Advertising and Labeling Guides, the Guides Concerning Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising, and the Statements of General Policy or Interpretations under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA Commentary). As detailed in the notice, which can be found as a link to this press release on the FTC's Web site, the Rule, guides, and statements will be examined as part of the Commission's ongoing systematic review of its regulations. As part of this process, the Commission will request comments on, among other things, the economic impact of, and continued need for, the rule, guides, and statements of policy; possible conflict between the rule, guides, and statements of policy and any state, local, or federal laws or regulations; and the effect of the rule, guides, and statements of policy on any technical, economic, or other industry changes. The Commission vote to approve publication of the Federal Register notices was 5-0. (FTC File No. P924124; staff contact is Carol J. Jennings, Bureau of Consumer Protection, 202-326-3010.)
