The second session of the Federal Trade Commission/Department of Justice joint hearings on health care and competition law and policy will begin on Wednesday, March 26 at 9:15 a.m. EST. The hearings will feature representatives of the FTC, the DOJ, the Department of Health & Human Services, the academic community, and the provider, payor, and employer communities. Topics to be discussed include: the importance of both product and geographic markets for hospitals; perspectives on single specialty hospitals; information on contracting practices; and issues in litigating hospital mergers.
