Commission approval of amended complaint: The Commission has approved the filing of an amended complaint in its case against Kevin Trudeau, et al. The original complaint in this matter, announced on June 10, 2003, alleged that health claims for Coral Calcium Supreme made by Trudeau and several other defendants were deceptive, in violation of the FTC Act. Through the action, the FTC has added three additional liability defendants and two relief defendants in this matter. They include: 1) Karbo Enterprises, Inc.; 2) Shop America Marketing Group; 3) TruStar Global Media; 4) K.T. Corp.; and 5) TruCom, LLC. The Commission vote to approve the amended complaint was 5-0. Commission authorization of the staff to request dismissal of defendants: The Commission has authorized the staff to request the dismissal of two defendants in the case currently pending against World Media Brokers, Inc., Express Marketing Service, and the companies’ principals. The FTC’s original complaint in this case alleged violations related to alleged cross-border lottery fraud.

Through this action, the staff has withdrawn its complaints against Paul Teskey and his son, Jean-Paul Teskey, as they did not play a substantial role in the defendants’ operations. The Commission vote authorizing the staff to dismiss the two individual defendants was 5-0. (FTC File No. X020110, staff contact is David A.
