I am deeply honored to be Chairman of the FTC. It will be a privilege to serve with my fellow Commissioners and the Commission staff as we work tirelessly to protect and enhance consumer welfare.

U.S. consumers today owe a debt of gratitude to former Chairman Timothy J. Muris. His dedication to the FTC and its mission has spanned four decades. His boundless energy, his keen intellect, his sense of proportion and fairness, and his good humor combine to form a model of leadership and public service.

His contributions to the FTC and American consumers will continue to have a significant impact for many years to come.
