The Federal Trade Commission and its Canadian law enforcement partners will hold a press conference on Tuesday, November 16 at 10:00 a.m. EST to announce new cross-border efforts to crack down on advance-fee loan and credit card fraud. The FTC’s recent Fraud Survey showed that advance-fee scams topped the list of consumer fraud, affecting more than 4 million people. Many advance-fee fraudsters operate from boiler rooms in Canada.
