On Wednesday, September 21, 2005, the Federal Trade Commission and the State Bar of Arizona will hold a one-day back-to-basics workshop about complying with truth-in-advertising standards. Green Lights & Red Flags: FTC Rules of the Road for Advertisers will feature a roster of national experts to help attorneys, business owners, and marketing executives learn about the latest developments in advertising law. Special guest speaker will be Arizona Attorney General Terry Goddard.

Green Lights & Red Flags will be held at the Arizona State University Downtown Center, 502 East Monroe, Building C, in Phoenix. Registration begins 8:30 a.m., and the program will run from 9:00 to 4:00. Topics to be discussed include:

  • Advertising Law: The Rules of the Road
  • Is Your Online Advertising DOT.COMpliant?
  • Promotional Issues – “Free” Offers, Rebates, and Telemarketing
  • Hot Topics at the Attorney’s General Office
  • Keeping Your Client Off the Law Enforcement Radar Screen
  • What to Do When Your Competitor Crosses the Line: Self-regulation vs. Litigation

Green Lights & Red Flags is open to the public. Attorneys may qualify for 5.25 hours of continuing legal education credit.
