Federal Trade Commission Votes to Close Investigation of Proposed Merger of PepsiCo and Quaker Oats Co.

The Federal Trade Commission today met in closed session to consider an enforcement action to authorize staff to seek a preliminary injunction against PepsiCo's proposed acquisition of the Quaker Oats Company. The Commission's 2-2 vote resulted in no action being taken. Subsequently, the Commission voted 4-0 to close the investigation. Commissioner statements will follow shortly.
