Dallas Consumer Agencies Host Consumer Outreach Forum to Address Fraud Directed at Hispanics

The Federal Trade Commission’s Southwest Region - Dallas and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service will host a press conference on THURSDAY, January 27, 2005, at 12:30 p.m. CST to highlight a one-day conference of law enforcement and community groups to combat fraud directed at Hispanics. An FTC survey shows that Hispanics are more than twice as likely to be targets of consumer fraud than non-Hispanic whites. In addition, the FTC will announce two law enforcement actions against companies targeting the Hispanic community.
