February 5-11 is the week to focus on consumer protection! Each year, National Consumer Protection Week (NCPW) highlights consumer protection and education efforts across the country. During the week, federal, state, and local agencies and national advocacy organizations committed to consumer protection hold events, workshops, and make other outreach efforts on national and local levels to raise awareness of scams and teach consumers how to protect themselves. During NCPW 2006, the FTC will release the Grand Scam Challenge, a series of interactive online games to help people test their consumer savvy. Organizations interested in promoting NCPW, and others interested in more information can visit www.consumer.gov/ncpw.
