The Federal Trade Commission today released the materials relating to the workshop on Health Care Competition Law and Policy, held on September 9-10, 2002. The workshop focused on the implications of competition law and policy for health care financing and delivery and considered the impact of competition law and policy on the cost, quality, and availability of health care and the incentives for innovation in the field.
The materials are available on the Commission website at http://www.ftc.gov/ogc/healthcare and include transcripts of the workshop proceedings, hand-outs distributed at the workshop, power-point presentations shown at the workshop, and all comments filed in response to the workshop.
As the Commission previously announced, it will hold public hearings on health care and competition law and policy commencing in February 2003 and continuing throughout that year. Details on the 2003 hearings may be found at http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2002/11/murishealthcare.htm.
