FTC to Hold Briefing on this Week's Health Care and Competition Law and Policy Hearings

Interested in the effect of the recent proliferation of single-specialty hospitals? Curious as to the explanation or implications of the DOJ's and FTC's string of hospital merger litigation losses? Staff of the Federal Trade Commission will hold a briefing on Tuesday, March 25, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. EST to provide reporters with information about this week's joint FTC/DOJ hearings on health care and competition law and policy. The hearings, to be held at the FTC Conference Center at 601 New Jersey Ave., NW, on March 26-28, will focus on hospital-related issues, including single-specialty hospitals, hospital contracting practices, and issues in litigating hospital mergers. The informal briefing is open to the public; however, only members of the media may ask questions during the event. Pre-registration is not required, but all media and other members of the public must present valid identification to be admitted to the Headquarters building.
