The Federal Trade Commission, the United States Postal Inspection Service, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, and the Manhattan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will hold a press conference on Wednesday, September 27 to announce recent efforts to combat fraud targeting Hispanics. The FTC will announce new cases at the event and the results of a multi-media, Spanish-language advertising review conducted with U.S. and international partners. The announcements will take place at a one-day forum for law enforcement, government, and community groups, to discuss consumer fraud aimed at Spanish-speaking consumers and to consider law enforcement and consumer education responses.
