LOS ANGELES – The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service are hosting a one-day seminar for law enforcement and community based organizations to promote education and awareness of consumer fraud targeted at the Hispanic community and to develop law enforcement responses.

The FTC will announce five new law enforcement actions that are part of the FTC’s ongoing Hispanic Initiative. A consumer guest who has personal experience with one of the scams will be on hand to talk with reporters.
