Protecting Indian Tribes from Scams Act

Under Section 402, the FTC, in consultation with Indian Tribes, must make public and submit to congressional committees a report on scams targeting Indian Tribes. This report, due no later than March 15, 2023, must include descriptions of the unfair or deceptive acts or practices targeted at Indian Tribes and the Commission’s efforts, including consumer education and collaboration with the Indian Tribes, to curtail such practices. No later than September 15, 2023, the Commission must also update its website to include information for consumers and businesses on identifying and avoiding unfair or deceptive acts or practices targeted at Indian Tribes.
