Cross-Bureau Entry-Level Opportunity
The Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Competition and Bureau of Consumer Protection jointly offer the agency’s Honors Attorney Program. This opportunity allows new attorneys, hired directly out of law school or judicial clerkships, to develop a strong foundation in both competition and consumer protection enforcement and policy work through a year-long assignment in each Bureau. Upon successful completion of a two-year term-limited appointment, participants may be considered for a permanent position by one or both Bureau(s), depending on agency need.
The goals of the FTC Honors Attorney Program include: exposing entry-level attorneys to the agency’s two core missions and how they intersect; encouraging an interdisciplinary approach to competition and consumer protection enforcement; and promoting the development of well-rounded legal and investigative skills. During their time in each Bureau, attorneys will gain invaluable hands-on experience working on fast-paced investigations and/or cutting-edge litigation, receive formal and informal trainings, and build relationships through teamwork and mentorship.
