FTC sends payments to people who paid for cash advances

On September 23, 2024, the FTC sent 449,344 PayPal payments totaling more than $2.6 million to people who paid FloatMe for instant cash advances.

FloatMe promised quick and free cash advances to people who downloaded the app and paid a monthly fee. The FTC sued FloatMe, alleging that the company often provided less than the promised amount and charged a fee for instant access. The FTC also alleged that FloatMe lied to customers who complained and made it difficult for customers to cancel.

To settle the lawsuit, FloatMe agreed to change how it does business and paid $3 million. The FTC is using that money to provide refunds to eligible FloatMe customers.

If you are eligible for a payment, you will get an email from no-reply@consumersentinel.gov between September 16, 2024, and September 20, 2024.

If you get a PayPal payment, please accept it within 30 days.
