KGaA to sell 60 outpatient dialysis clinics in 43 local markets under a proposed settlement resolving charges that its acquisition of rival dialysis provider Liberty Dialysis Holdings, Inc. would harm competition in numerous local markets for outpatient dialysis services around the country. According to the FTC, Fresenius's acquisition of Liberty would eliminate head-to-head competition between the firms in the 43 markets at issue, leading to higher prices and reduced quality for dialysis consumers.
