Event Description

The Federal Trade Commission, the offices of the New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut Attorneys General, legal services attorneys and other consumer advocates, and state and federal consumer protection officials from New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut met to discuss issues facing consumers today. Topics included foreclosure issues, debt settlement and credit counseling fraud, job-related fraud, debt collection, technology, and consumer education. Conference participants discussed experiences and challenges and considered how their groups can better work together and share information and resources in the future.
