Denver, CO – On July 22, the Federal Trade Commission, in association with the Colorado Bar Association, will hold a one day back-to-basics workshop on complying with truth-in-advertising standards. Titled Green Lights & Red Flags: FTC Rules of the Road for Advertising Law, the workshop will feature speakers from the FTC, the Colorado Attorney General’s Office, the Denver/Boulder Better Business Bureau, and other experts in advertising law. Green Lights & Red Flags is aimed at attorneys, business owners, and marketing executives.

The event will be held in the Colorado Bar Association’s CLE Classroom at 1900 Grant Street in Denver. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the program will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Topics to be covered include:

  • Online Hot Topics

  • “Free” Offers, Rebates, and Other Promotional Issues

  • Telemarketing & Do Not Call

  • Substantiating Health & Safety Claims

  • What to Do If the FTC or State AG Comes to Call

  • Protecting Small Business from Fraud

Green Lights & Red Flags is open to the public and has been submitted for seven general CLE credits. The registration fee is $89 for Colorado Bar members and government attorneys and $129 for others.
