FTCs Competition Bureau Closes Investigation into Comcast, Time Warner Cable and Adelphia Communications Transactions

Investigations closing: The Commission’s Bureau of Competition has closed its investigation into the acquisition by Comcast Corporation (Comcast) and Time Warner Cable Inc. (TWC) of the cable assets of Adelphia Communications Corporation (Adelphia), and into related transactions in which Comcast and TWC will swap various cable systems. The Bureau has sent closing letters to the parties, copies of which can be found on the FTC’s Web site as a link to this press release. The FTC’s Commissioners also have issued statements on the closing of the investigations, the first by Chairman Deborah Platt Majoras and Commissioners William E. Kovacic and J.
